4 ton

The Goodman GSZ160481 heat pump is rated for 4 tons, which is normally enough to cover a larger house in average climates. A heat pump coil or air handler is required for this condenser to function, and some indoor units will be larger in tonnage than this condenser in some bundles to maintain the unit’s overall efficiency.

16 SEER

With its high-end 16 SEER efficiency rating, the GSZ160481 is designed to save you money over the entire life of the unit. 16 SEER units will save you about 12% more in energy bills over a 14 SEER system, making this upgrade a smart upgrade to save you money over time with a small increase in your initial investment in the system.

The GSZ160481 condenser comes with Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.

The cabinet on the GSZ160481 heat pump is designed to be durable in harsh conditions. With its baked-on polyester coat of paint, the unit is approved for up to 500 hours of salt spray. The enhanced durability and paint coat makes the GSZ160481 compliant with 2010 Florida building codes for unit integrity for hurricane-like winds when the unit is properly anchored. For reliability, there is also a built-in bi-flow filter drier that lowers general wear-and-tear on the internals of the unit.

In order to provide a faster and less expensive installation, the Goodman GSZ160481 heat pump is factory-installed with pressure switches, a high-capacity muffler, easily accessible gauge ports, and service valves with sweat connections. The cabinet of the unit is also fitted with dual access panels—one on the side and one on the top—to allow for a much easier maintenance procedure should the need for maintenance arise.

5 Tons

The AVPTC61D14 air handler is rated for an output of 5 tons. In many cases, this tonnage will be larger than the condenser it is paired with, which increases the overall efficiency of the unit. Please note that this air handler needs a condenser to heat or cool. For straight heating or when backup heat is necessary in a heat pump application, the air handler is able to accommodate heat strips, available at an additional cost to be field-installed.

Warranty

Goodman offers a 10 year parts warranty with online registration and when the unit is matched with a covered condenser. Please note that installation that follows your state and local codes is required, normally requiring an EPA-certified installer for most of the work.

The Goodman AVPTC61D14 comes with a factory-installed TXV kit, preventing the need to install one to increase the unit’s efficiency. The unit is also able to be installed in any orientation—upflow, downflow, or horizontal—which allows it to be extremely versatile in application. For easy maintenance, there are two access panels on the unit, and there is a CFM indicator and a front-panel sight glass. There is also a built-in control board function that helps you diagnose the unit should the need arise.

The Goodman AVPTC61D14 is ComfortNet compatible, allowing it to communicate with compatible condensers. The variable speed motor provides the most precise temperature control possible. This 240 volt heater coil can be added to a Goodman air handler to provide winter-time heating capabilities.

Produces 51,150 BTUs of heat.

Controlled by sequencers for optimum temperature balance. Completely assembled and tested. Built-in overcurrent protection on all units as indicated in electrical data chart (see spec sheet). Multiple branch circuit capability. High temperature limit controls for safe operation. Plug-in wiring harness for easy installation into air handlers. Rust-resistant nickel chromium heat elements.

If you are installing a heater coil in an air handler, line voltage is to be connected directly to the heater coil which will operate both the heater coil and air handler. A separate circuit for the air handler is not needed. 

Depending on the heater coil size being installed, one or two circuits to the heater coil will be necessary (see "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" below for quantity and amperage of circuits required for this heater coil.) At your home's circuit panel, individual 220 volt double-pole circuit breakers are required for each circuit.
