The Goodman® GSZ 16 SEER Heat Pump uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and cooling industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. With its 16 SEER rating, the GSZ will help reduce energy consumption throughout the life of the system.
The Goodman ASPT Multi-Position Air Handler with EEM (Energy-Saving) Motor is suitable for use with R-410A refrigerant and may be installed in a variety of locations. This air handler features a SmartFrame sub-structure that adds lateral stability, mounting locations for internal components, and additional insulation retention.

1.5 ton
The Goodman GSZ160181 heat pump is rated for 1.5 tons, which is normally enough to cover a smaller house in average climates. A heat pump coil or air handler is required for this condenser to function, and some indoor units will be larger in tonnage than this condenser in some bundles to maintain the unit’s overall efficiency.
16 SEER
With its high-end 16 SEER efficiency rating, the GSZ160181 is designed to save you money over the entire life of the unit. 16 SEER units will save you about 12% more in energy bills over a 14 SEER system, making this upgrade a smart upgrade to save you money over time with a small increase in your initial investment in the system.
The GSZ160181 condenser comes with Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty with online registration through the manufacturer. An installation that follows your state and local codes is required for the warranty to be upheld.
The cabinet on the GSZ160181 heat pump is designed to be durable in harsh conditions. With its baked-on polyester coat of paint, the unit is approved for up to 500 hours of salt spray. The enhanced durability and paint coat makes the GSZ160181 compliant with 2010 Florida building codes for unit integrity for hurricane-like winds when the unit is properly anchored. For reliability, there is also a built-in bi-flow filter drier that lowers general wear-and-tear on the internals of the unit.
In order to provide a faster and less expensive installation, the Goodman GSZ160181 heat pump is factory-installed with pressure switches, a high-capacity muffler, easily accessible gauge ports, and service valves with sweat connections. The cabinet of the unit is also fitted with dual access panels—one on the side and one on the top—to allow for a much easier maintenance procedure should the need for maintenance arise.

2 Tons
The Goodman ASPT25B14 air handler is rated for an output of 2 tons. In many cases, the tonnage of the air handler will be larger than the condenser that it is naturally paired with. This is intentional, and is to maintain the overall efficiency of the unit. While the unit does require a condenser to function as part of a heat pump or air conditioner, heat strips may be installed in the air handler to provide straight electric heating, which can be used as an electric furnace on its own or as a backup heat option for a heat pump setup.
Warranty
The ASPT25B14 comes with Goodman’s standard 10 year parts warranty when registered online through the manufacturer. Please note that in order for the warranty to be upheld, the installation must be compliant to all related local and state codes, as well as the unit must be paired with an approved condenser.

The Goodman ASPT25B14 utilizes SmartFrame technology in its sub-structure. For easier maintenance, there is both a top and a side panel to access vital areas on the air handler.
