The ACiQ-48-HP output of 48,000 BTU or 4 tons, meaning that it is designed to heat and cool a large house in ideal conditions and with the right air handler. With an efficiency rating of 16 SEER, the ACiQ-48-HP will keep you comfortable in your home while saving money both up front and over the entire lifetime of the unit. This SEER rating is much higher than the average central system brand, meaning that homeowners will see a significant decrease in operating costs in comparison to their old system in most installations.
Intelligent Comfort at Any Condition
The Stealth Central series ACiQ-48-HP is designed to heat and cool down to 5°F, much lower than the average central system that can only heats down to 35°F. Paired with the high SEER rating of this unit, this low ambient capability means that your electric bill will be much easier on your wallet than nearly any other central system. If your outdoor temperatures get even lower than 5°F, the air handler that is compatible with this unit can be installed with a backup heater coil, allowing the unit to heat indefinitely at any temperature and will act as straight electric heating at anything lower than this temperature. With its intelligent control board, this changeover will happen automatically, meaning that no matter where you live or what season it is, your comfort needs will always be met when the unit is sized accurately, making the ACiQ-48-HP the astute decision to make when shopping for all-electric central split systems.
For enhanced durability, the ACiQ-48-HP has a Golden Fin coating to protect the unit from general wear-and-tear, rust, and corrosion. The unit can self-diagnose any issues you may have with your unit, giving you the peace of mind that if you have any issues with your unit, your contractor will know what it is immediately. All of these features allow your unit to rest assured that your unit will be reliable enough to run in almost any condition.
Designed similarly to a standard central system, the ACiQ Stealth Central series has a smaller footprint than most other brands of standard central split systems. The unit can be installed in standard ductwork installations while maintaining a higher efficiency and a generally easier installation. Please note that this condenser requires an ACiQ unitary ducted air handler to function, if not already included in the bundle on this page, along with line sets and other installation accessories available at an additional cost. Though the unit is easier to install, it is highly recommended to have a professional install this system because it is not compatible with precharged line sets or other DIY-possible equipment.
ACiQ's standard warranty is a 5 year parts and 7 year limited compressor warranty. With online registration and an installation following your state and local installation codes, the limited compressor warranty will increase to 10 years.

The ACiQ-48-AH is designed to be an extremely efficient air handler to provide the best comfort possible in your home. With standard central system replacements in mind, the ACiQ-48-AH is an alternative that brings a smaller condenser to average home system builds and brings more options for installation that will keep you comfortable in a wider variety of applications. To keep your system intelligent, the integrated control board is extremely intelligent, providing easy maintenance with easy-to-read error codes and allowing you to attach any thermostat that has at least two heating terminals, providing you the ability to make your in-home comfort even more intelligent with any smart thermostat. To further the system's functionality, a backup electric heater coil is available to allow for heating below the condenser's rated temperature in the form of straight electric heat. Please note that in order to function as a heat pump, this air handler must be installed with a condenser and other installation equipment, available at an additional cost if not already included in this product bundle. To use straight electric heating, an electric heater coil is necessary and is also available at an additional cost.

I replaced my old R-22 heat pump with the ACiQ-48-HP & AH this past weekend. The new system comes fully charged with R-410a and you’ll only need to add a small amount to account for your line set.
Several things of note, the system is very sophisticated with microprocessor controls on both the heat pump and the air handler. If you aren’t familiar with twisted/shielded communications I recommend you do some homework to understand that first because this system uses a comm. bus to start/run/change modes, etc. My existing thermostat is a gen. 3 Nest which worked with the system but did have to be setup a bit differently to account for the ‘intelligence’ in the new system. The two things that are a bit different are the orange wire that normally causes the reversing valve to energize in cooling mode (typ. on most heat pumps) is not used at all, so be sure to remove it from the Nest. The other change is the Nest’s ‘Aux/W2’ terminal needs to be connected to the AHU’s control board at either of the CN22 connector’s terminals. Use the ‘Pro Setup’ option on the Nest and configure it to have your correct number of heat and cool stages without telling Nest it is controlling a heat pump. Sounds a little odd I know, but trust me you’ll understand if you do otherwise. Essentially, you will be ‘dumbing down’ the Nest slightly but the ACiQ system more than makes up for this in operational efficiency.
The outdoor (heat pump) unit is extremely quiet and the dual fans will gyrate back-and-forth upon startup, but this is normal before they both begin spinning the same direction. You will have to strain to hear the compressor start, but that one of the ‘magical’ tricks of having inverter drives on HVAC equipment. Same applies to the AHU’s fan. You will barely hear it start.
The system comes with a remote that is only used to change the static air pressure setting for the AHU fan. I left mine at the default value and am quite pleased with sound and performance as it is.
The biggest takeaway from this review is “don’t overthink the thermostat wiring or power wiring”. Connect main power to the outdoor unit, pull a 14ga pair (with ground) to the AHU, pull a 22/2 shielded communication cable between both units (ground the shield on ONE END ONLY. This isn’t covered in the included manual, but grounding a shield at both ends cancels out the function of a shield in communication cables. Also, DO NOT run communication cable in the same conduit with power wiring. The electrical noise induced will mess up the communications.
One last thing…make sure you have a tubing bender for 5/8” copper. Trying to bend that stuff by hand will likely result in collapsed tubing that’ll have to be repaired.
