For an air handling unit, residential installation generally involves interfacing the unit to the ductwork and connecting the electric lines for power and system controls. Our selection includes what could be considered a small air handler at a width of 17.5 inches, plus two other widths – 21 and 24.5 inches.

These Goodman residential air handlers can really shoot the breeze! On the low end, the 3-ton model generates 1200 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of airflow. The 4-ton unit can move air at a rate of 1600 CFM and the top unit, the 5-ton unit, delivers a whopping 2000 CFMs.

Made for integration with the other components in an air conditioning system, all our air handlers can be fitted with optional electric heat coils, ranging in size from 3 kilowatts to 20 kilowatts. Purchasing home air handlers offers multiple benefits to the homeowner - including the ability to add an additional case and coil in the future that will allow you to heat and cool your space depending on the climate outside.

All our residential air handlers have variable speed capabilities. This helps save energy by matching the air speed to the temperature as it nears the thermostat setting. This allows a gradual shut down of the air handler, rather than an all-on, all-off process. When an optional electric heating coil is installed, the variable speed blower helps prevent drafty start-ups of the system.
